- A magnitude 5.2 earthquake rattled Davao Oriental and nearby areas, according to PHIVOLCS. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in Manay, Davao Oriental. The quake, which was tectonic in origin, was felt at around 4:53 a.m.

- The Philippine Coast Guard deployed its Anti-Terrorist Unit to Zamboanga Peninsula and to Basilan and Sulu in response to high-profile kidnapping of foreign nationals.
