- Senator Bong Go lauds the passage of new laws that would help fight bank system hacking, promote press freedom, and enhance transnational higher educational programs.

- The Sandiganbayan has upheld its decision to deny the motion of Janet Lim Napoles to have her plunder charge dismissed.

- Senator Joel Villanueva called on the labor and immigration officials to find out if the thousands of foreign workers in a shuttered Philippine offshore gaming operation service provider have proper work documents.

- A large fire broke ut at a French factory in the northern port city of Rouen.

- New South Wales became the last Australian state to decriminalize abortion. Politicians from across the political spectrum voted to overturn the laws that date back to 1900 and meant women seeking an abortion in Sydney or elsewhere in the state and their doctors could face up to 10 years in prison.

- United Nations Chief Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that the world faces “an unprecedented threat from intolerance, violent extremism and terrorism” that affects every country, exacerbating conflicts and destabilizing entire regions.

- A top Democrat said that President Donald Trump’s July phone call pressing Ukraine’s leader to investigate Trump’s Democratic rival Joe Biden resembled a mafia boss’s corrupt squeeze on a victim.

- The United States is set to remain in the UN postal agency after member states decided to reform rules that Washington claimed unfairly benefit China.  The Trump administration had argued that American taxpayers were being forced to subsidise deliveries from other countries, notably China, and vowed to quit the Universal Postal Union this year unless the system was dramatically reformed.

- The new Audi RS Q3 range has been unveiled, all powered by a 2.5L TFSi engine producing 400hp of power.



- After four years, Brown Eyed Girls confirmed their first comeback.

- Korean actor Song Young Hak passed away.

- Killing Eve's Kirby Howell-Baptiste joins the cast of the upcoming Cruella movie starring Emma Stone.
