- The Malacanang extended its condolences to the family and friends of former Senator Rene Espina after the latter's passing.
- Two Congress members filed a bill which seeks to prevent and counter violent extremism by combining efforts to lessen the appeal of radicalism to the youth and to reintegrate extremists into society.
- Over 2,000 people were affected by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Depression Marilyn. A total of 2,360 persons in several regions in the Philippine were affected, according to the NDRRMC.

- Bahamas, reeling from Hurricane Dorian, got hit by another tropical storm.
- Tyson Fury overcame a bloody cut over his right eye to win the fight against Otto Wallin by unanimous decision.
- An Indonesian version of the hit Filipino film Kita Kita has been announced.
