With Ferrari ace Sebatian Vettel went kaput in Lap 28, the Mercedes team delivered their biggest upset in front of the Russian spectators with a 1-2 finish, with their top gun Lewis Hamilton winning the race and Valtteri Bottas placed 2nd, while the young gun of Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, completes the podium with a third place finish. Other finishers include Max Verstappen, Alex Albon, Carlos Sainz, Sergio Perez, Lando Norris, Kevin Magnussen, Nico Hulkenberg, Lance Stroll, Danil Kvyat, Kimi Raikkonen, Pierre Gasly, and Antonio Giovinazzi.
Apart from winning the race, Hamilton gained another point for setting the fastest lap time of the race at the rate of 1:35.761.
With five races to go, looks like Hamilton's goal for another world champion title is drawing near but will the others catch up by surprise?
The next event of the F1 2019 season will be at Suzuka Circuit for the Japanese Grand Prix this October 12, 2019.
