NTT IndyCar Series 2019 - ABC Supply 500

The Pocono Raceway is the most unforgiving oval track in the IndyCar calendar. So unforgiving, a certain driver badly injured his legs upon crashing last year. Now, the tricky triangle comes back to bite even the most experienced IndyCar drivers in the ABC Supply 500 leg of the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series.

Summing up the action at the Tricky Triangle, the opening lap is a huge disaster as Ryan Hunter-Reay's horrifying crash clamped Felix Rosenqvist, Takuma Sato, James Hinchcliffe, and Alexander Rossi down, triggering a caution. As the race restarts, the action continues at the Tricky Triangle until Lap 40 sees Spencer Pigot crashed through the wall, triggering another caution. On the second restart, Will Power and Simon Pagenaud are hounding themselves for the lead and Power gets it. On Lap 74, a third caution triggered as Colton Herta's involved in a crash.

The sudden weather change and the lightning brought an abrupt end to the ABC Supply 500 race with Will Power claimed his 1st win of the season followed by Scott Dixon, and Simon Pagenaud. The Team Penske boys are proven themselves invincible on the ovals once again.

Next race is at World Wide Technology Raceway at Madison, Illinois, for the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 this 24th of August.
