- The Duterte administration is planning to spend 35.4 billion pesos to implement the free college tuition program, P20 billion to build classrooms, and P12.6 billion for learning resources next year.

- The Philippines and other Asian countries hold drills on stopping a ship from sabotaging a commercial and shipping activity, while in the waters off Subic Bay near the West Philippine Sea. A whole-day exercise against piracy, smuggling, and terrorism in sea were carried out yesterday by 150 personnel from different Southeast Asian countries — Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore,Sri Lanka,Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Philippines.

- Japan turned over 16 boom trucks to National Electrification Administration as part of its 384 million peso support to the energy sector in Mindanao's conflict-affected areas. Called Improvement of Equipment for Power Distribution in Bangsamoro Area, the project is a partnership between the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Department of Energy through the National Electrification Administration as support to peacebuilding in Mindanao.
