F1 2019: Hungarian GP

Just before the F1 drivers take a much needed summer break before heading of to Spa-Francorchamps next month, they've engaged themselves at the Hungaroring for the most controversial-but-thrilling Hungarian Grand Prix leg of the F1 2019 season and why is that called? Here's why...

Max Verstappen wanted to dominate the rest of the Hungarian Grand Prix courtesy of his pole position but when the race has four laps to go, Lewis Hamilton hounded Verstappen to snag his lead and shocked Hungary when he reached the finish line. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel placed 3rd without questions and Charles Leclerc finished 4th.

Although he didn't win, Verstappen set the fastest lap time of 1:17.103 in this race, therefore he gained an extra point and he placed 3rd at 181 points, 7 points behind second-placer Valtteri Bottas, while Hamilton retains his lead at 250 points.

Next race is at Spa-Francorchamps on the 1st of September.
