The weather change forced the Iowa 300 race of the NTT IndyCar Series into a late night race that keeps on going even after the biggest boxing match of the summer happened in Las Vegas. Nevertheless, this night race is very unpredictable from start to finish and spectators managed to hang in there until the green flag to witness this one helluva night race at Iowa.

In the most intense all-night race of the summer season, there are so many unpredictable moments that made this race pulled an even more all-nighter such as a spinout by Sage Karam at Lap 16, sudden rainfall at Lap 51 that triggered a second caution, Takuma Sato got knocked out at Lap 186, and Ed Carpenter having a miserable after hours after getting knocked through the wall at Lap 264. The rest is all summed up.
After the intense all-nighter at Iowa Speedway, Josef Newgarden is still dominant in the Iowa 300 for the fourth time in five years as his win extends his lead by 29 points ahead of title rival Alexander Rossi. Scott Dixon placed 2nd and James Hinchcliffe placed 3rd.
The next race is at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course at Lexington, Ohio, for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio on the 28th of July.
