- Suspected Chinese drug lord Jacky Co and five of his co-respondents let slip past their opportunity to respond to criminal complaints over their alleged involvement in the smuggling of P1.8-billion worth of illegal drugs which were discovered back in March.

- Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Roy Cimatu appealed to the informal settler families living along waterways to avail themselves of the government’s relocation program as their contribution to the Manila Bay rehabilitation.

- The Duterte administration failed to sign the 25-year franchise renewal of TV5 and 10 other media outfits as they all lapsed into law in March and April this year, official copies of the laws showed.

It said that an expert committee identified the root cause of the previous technical snag and all corrective actions were now implemented.

- Almost seven dozen shipping containers sitting in a Cambodian seaport that were found to be filled with plastic waste came from the United States and Canada, the Southeast Asian country’s Environment Ministry said.

- A fire broke out at Kyoto Animation 1st studio when a suspected person threw an unknown substance and set fire to the well-known animation studio, killing one person and leaving 12 others presumed dead, while 36 people are hurt.
