- Philippine VP Leni Robredo said the administration's move to reject the UN investigation mot only gives the impression that the Philippines was not taking action on the rising number of killings in the drug war.

- "We have to prepare ourselves." Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said as the Department takes the next step to fortify security measures in the wake of the June 28 suicide bombing in Indanan, Sulu.

- Philippine VP Robredo wants further investigation on the report that China conducted ballistic missile testing in the South China Sea. She said that China's missile launch must be investigated by the government.

- A top British diplomat slammed US President Donald Trump over leaked diplomatic cables, calling him inept, hobbled by infighting, and unlikely to improve. 

- China's ambassador to London said that the country is not interested in a diplomatic war with UK but rejects "Cold War mentality" it had seen from some British politician over Hong Kong. The two sides were in a middle of a spat over mass protests in Hong Kong.

- Iran said it is fully prepared to enrich uranium "at any level" and with any amount, in further defiance of US efforts to squeeze the country with sanctions and force it to renegotiate a 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.

- In the wake of two powerful quakes struck Southern California over the weekend, local hardware businesses in Los Angeles saw a sharp rise of in earthquake kits that may have already run out of supplies.

- The creator of My Hero Academia said during the event that the upcoming film, showing this December, will be the last film of this series.

- The Philippine Basketball Association will have two basketball games in Dubai this 3rd and 4th of October during the heat of the Governor's Cup.

- Actor Cameron Boyce, known for his roles in Disney's Jessie and the Disney's Descendants franchise, died at the age of 20 due to an "ongoing medical condition."
