- The Supreme Court decided to hold oral arguments on a petition to compel the government to protect, preserve and rehabilitate the environment in the Scarborough Shoal or Panatag Shoal, Ayungin Shoal, and Mischief or Panganiban Reef in the West Philippine Sea.
- Senators cannot pass the mandatory Reserve Officers Training Corps bill due to lack of time. During their session Monday night, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri disclosed that he received the President’s certification. Aside from the ROTC bill, the Chief Executive also certified as urgent the proposed amendments to the Public Services Act and the Foreign Investments Act.
