- The Court of Appeals turned down the petition of three militant groups to issue a protection order against the government which has been accused of harassing their members including the conduct of arrests and killings due to their alleged affiliation with communist rebels.

- Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo lauded the “strength” of the people of Marawi in the aftermath of the month-long siege in 2017 which drastically changed their lives and assured that her office – along with its partners – will continue to seek ways to assist them.

- A senior leader of the House of Representatives said Saturday it was going to be up to Malacañang whether it would publicly disclose the results of the Philippine maritime authorities’ investigation on the Recto Bank incident.

- At the G20 Summit, the United States and China are agreed to restart trade talks and Washington will not impose new tariffs on Chinese exports for now as US President Donald Trump said the talks were "back on track."

- Members of the Organization of American States ended two days of meetings without a clear plan for increasing pressure on embattled Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, despite a majority vote to recognize a representative from the country’s opposition.

- A 23-meter high wall collapsed on a cluster of tin-roofed huts in western India earlier following heavy rains, killing at least 16 workers and their families living there.

- Malaysian carmaker Perodua began selling their cars in Seychelles with their Axia compact saloon.

- Zenvo unveiled the TSR-S, a road-legal version of the TSR with a signature Centripetal Wing and Twin Supercharged V8 engine. Only 5 units will be made.
