- The Philippine National Police vowed to go after the Kapa Community Ministry International and other scam groups in Mindanao. PNP chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde said that they are currently conducting case-build up against all the people and groups involved in investment scams that prey on various people in Mindanao, including policemen.
- Senator Panfilo M. Lacson said that the Philippines, being a member of the United Nations in good standing, should respect and welcome any official act of the international body. Lacson’s position is diametrically opposed to a statement of Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III who said the government should just ignore calls for a UN probe into the controversial campaign against illegal drugs of the Duterte government.
- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte reclassified the Clark Industrial Estate 5 as an international center of commerce, industry, leisure and recreation. The reclassification of the vast Clark estate, contained in Executive Order No. 81, seeks to further promote the development of entire Clark area as a globally competitive commercial center in the region.
- Grab Philippines maintained that it will push through with the deactivation of at least 8,000 "colorum" TNVS providers but urged those who will be removed in the platform to reapply as new slots will be opened.
- Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe heads to Iran this week on a rare diplomatic mission, hoping to ease tensions between the Islamic Republic and Tokyo’s key ally Washington.
- US President Donald Trump dangled the prospect of renewing his tariff threat against Mexico if they did not cooperate on border issues, while some of his Democrat foes said the last-minute deal to avert trade penalties was overblown.
- British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, a contender to replace Theresa May as prime minister, said that German Chancellor Angela Merkel had indicated the EU would be willing to renegotiate the Brexit divorce deal.
- Hong Kong’s pro-Beijing leader refused to scrap a controversial plan to allow extraditions to the Chinese mainland, a day after huge crowds came out to oppose the proposal. Chief executive Carrie Lam said the legislature would debate the bill on Wednesday as planned, rejecting calls to delay or withdraw the law.
- BMW and Jaguar Land Rover will collaborate for the next-generation electric drive systems.
- Forza Horizon 4 will have the LEGO Speed Champions expansion coming this June 13.
- Microsoft confirms Project Scarlett, a codename for the next-gen gaming console that is 4x more powerful than the Xbox One X and coming in the 2020 holiday season.
- Bandai Namco, during the E3 presentation, announced Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and Tales of Arise video games.
- Gazini Ganados is named Miss Universe Philippines 2019 at the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 grand coronation night. Apart from her, Bea Patricia Magtanong is named Bb. Pilipinas International, Resham Ramirez Saeed as Bb. Pilipinas Supranational, Emma Mary Tiglao as Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, Samantha Lo as Bb. Pilipinas Grand International, and Leren Mae Bautista as Bb. Pilipinas Globe.
