The Father's Day race weekend surely heat things up even in the imminent Aussie winter as the 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship continues at the heart of Hidden Valley for the BetEasy Darwin Triple Crown event and what a drama this two-race battle is.
The first race is already drama-filled because of the poor qualifying result for Red Bull HRT, the Kelly-Slade contact, a penalty for De Silvestro for Hazelwood hit, Davison's early pit issue and penalty cost his podium finish, and more, but for Scott McLaughlin, it's just another day at the office as he won the first race. The second race is similar either as Van Gisbergen's regulation breach at the pit stop cost him championship points, and a broken chassis that didn't stop Jamie Whincup from finishing fifth but anyway, McLaughlin made headlines as he became the first Triple Crown winner.
Next time, the VASC will be heading at the city of Townsville for the Wattpac Townsville 400 this 5th to 7th of July, 2019.
