- The Philippine National Police acquired about P1.871 billion worth of newly-procured helicopters, patrol vehicles, firearms and other equipment which were presented at the National Capital Region Police Office headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.

- The Bureau of Immigration announced the arrest of a Taiwanese fugitive who attempted to flee the country by passing himself off as a Filipino and using a tampered Philippine passport.
- Former Trump lawyer, Michael Cohen, is due to report to jail to serve a sentence he deems unjust because he was simply following orders. He was sentenced to three years in prison in December, after admitting to having paid hush money during the 2016 election to two women who said they had had affairs with Trump — in violation of electoral laws — having committed tax fraud, and having lied to Congress.

- US President Donald Trump announced that the United States will raise tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese goods — a blunt warning to Beijing just days before what is being billed as a last-ditch round of talks to reach a deal or resume their trade war.
- Sri Lankan police discovered a 10-acre camp in the eastern town of Kattankudy, where Islamist militants linked to the deadly Easter attacks are believed to have practiced shooting and bombmaking.
