- The top 12 senatorial candidates who won in the recently-concluded 2019 midterm elections has been proclaimed at the ceremony at the Philippine International Convention Center recently. In the final official tally, Cynthia Villar leads the spot with 25,283,727 votes while Grace Poe's in 2nd place with 22,029,788, and former Duterte aide Bong Go is in third place with 20,657,702 votes.

- About 839 National Food Authority employees are expected to be retrenched as the government begins to implement the restructuring plan for the state-run grains agency in line with the provisions of Republic Act 11203 (Rice Trade Liberalization Act).

- The Duterte administration has ordered the government agencies to look for a private shipping company that will ship the garbage back to Canada.

- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has signed a law institutionalizing the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or the government’s cash subsidy program in the country.

- Six people killed in civil unrest that gripped parts of Jakarta last night after the election commission confirmed that President Joko Widodo won last month’s election, the governor of the Indonesian capital said.

- The upcoming hotter version of the Renaultsport Megan has set the fastest front-wheel driver record at the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 7:40.1, 3.7 seconds faster than the Honda Civic Type R FK8. The special model is set for its Monaco Grand Prix appearance this week.

- Codemasters announced the GRID remake coming this September 13 and it will have former F1 driver Fernando Alonso making his appearance.

- The cast of the upcoming Ultraman Taiga TV series has been officially announced. Joining alongside actor Yuki Inoue, who will play the main character Hiroyuki Kudo in the new series airing this July on TV Tokyo, are Chiharu Niiyama as Kana Sasaki, Ryotaro as Homare Soya, Momoka as Pirika Asahikawa, and Ko Nanase as antagonist Kirisaki. Takuya Terashima, Satoshi Hino, and Shota Hayama will lend their voices to Taiga, Titas, and Fuma while Yuma Uchida reprises his role from the recent R/B film as the villainous Tregear. Daisuke Ono will narrate the series.

- First details for next year's Doctor Who season has emerged with the Judoon monsters making their series return.
