- The National Bureau of Investigation has arrested a man involved in the posting of the so-called “Bikoy” videos which accused the family and an associate of President Duterte as being involved in the illegal drugs trade.
- Department of Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi said his department has been inviting oil and gas explorers since last November. Cusi said these prospective international and local explorers have to apply, specifying the areas they want to explore, and his department gives the permit for oil and gas exploration.
- The Gabriela Party List hails the signing of the implementing rules and regulations of the much celebrated Expanded Maternity Leave Law. The group, which is represented by its nominees Arlene Brosas and Emmi de Jesus in the current 17th Congress, said the IRR signing marks an important milestone as it paves the way for the full implementation of the long-sought additional benefits for expectant mothers.
- Over 10,000 pieces of mostly rare Philippine stamps have been unveiled by its Chinese collector in an exhibit at the Xiamen City Museum in China’s southeastern province of Fujian.

- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday Sanofi SA’s dengue vaccine Dengvaxia a very narrow approval as the company continues to suffer from evidence that its vaccine, which took 20 years to develop, can cause severe infections in some people.
- A space capsule suspected to have exploded last month in an incident characterized by manufacturer SpaceX as an “anomaly” was in fact completely destroyed, according to a US Senator. “The most recent SpaceX anomaly caused the complete loss of the (crew) capsule,” Senator Richard Shelby, chairman of a Senate committee that manages NASA’s budget, said during a hearing.

- Sony announced that they will no longer repair PSP-3000 and PS3 CECH-3000 units.

- A delegation from the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas went to China to check the accommodations and venues in the three cities where Gilas Pilipinas could end up playing, and to learn as much as they can from China in preparation for the Philippines' co-hosting of the 2023 FIBA World Cup with Japan and Indonesia.
