- With 129 out of 167 COCs canvassed in the recent Partial Official Tally, Bam Aquino manages to claw back to the Top 12 spot with 11,001,047 votes.
- Canada expressed disappointment over the decision of the Philippine government to recall its top diplomats posted in Canada over the waste issue. In a statement issued by the Global Affairs Office in Ottawa, it said Canada will continue to closely engage with the Philippines to ensure a swift resolution of the issue pertaining to the re-shipment of the remaining 69 containers vans of garbage back to its port.
- Moro National Liberation Front founding chairman and former Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Governor Nur Misuari is asking the Sandiganbayan Third Division to allow him to travel to Saudi Arabia from May to June.

- The Missouri senate passed a bill that would ban abortions at eight weeks of pregnancy or later, except in cases of medical emergency. There are no exceptions for rape or incest. It is the latest in a string of sweeping away abortion restrictions passed by Republicans aimed at pushing abortion challenges to the US Supreme Court. Georgia, Mississippi, Kentucky and Ohio have also recently passed laws banning abortion after heartbeat activity is detected. Alabama last Wednesday signed a controversial abortion bill that punishes doctors to perform abortions at any stage of a pregnancy and face life imprisonment.
- Canadian PM Justin Trudeau saddened by “backsliding” on women’s rights seen in several US states after Alabama agreed the toughest abortion ban in the country.
