- Reelectionist Senators Nancy Binay and Bam Aquino are barely hanging on the 12th spot in the senatorial race dominated by pro-administration bets. Based on early canvassing conducted by the National Board of Canvassers at the Philippine International Convention Center, Binay and Aquino took the 11th and 12th spots.

- Almost 170 tons of campaign materials set to be recycled were collected by the MMDA. MMDA’s Metro Parkway Clearing Group said they collected 23.42 tons of campaign materials on May 14, while from March 1 to May 12 they got 145 tons.

- In the aftermath of the 2019 midterm elections, the Department of Education has received over 900 reports on damages to school facilities which were used as poll centers nationwide.

- The Trump administration is set to lay out plans on how immigration laws should be overhauled, according to Republican senators after top White House advisers briefed them on the plan. The US President has been working with advisers on a proposal to boost visas for highly skilled workers seeking to immigrate to the United States and cut back on other types of visas – a plan unlikely to pass Congress ahead of the November 2020 presidential election.

- Huawei is willing to sign a “no-spy” agreement with countries including Britain, the firm’s chairman said, as the head of NATO said Britain must preserve secure mobile networks.

- French President Emmanuel Macron and New Zealand’s premier Jacinda Ardern will host other world leaders and leading tech chiefs to launch an ambitious new initiative aimed at curbing extremism online.

- Donald Trump Jr., the son of the US President, has agreed to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee investigating Russian election meddling, according to reports.

- British PM Theresa May will publish draft legislation in the first week of June that would allow Brexit to proceed if approved by parliament, according to a Downing Street official.

- After backing out of hosting the 2019 U.N. climate summit, Brazil has now canceled a United Nations climate change event that was to be held in August in the city of Salvador.

- The Mini JCW Clubman and Countryman models have received a minor change for 2020 model with a new 2.0L MINI TwinPower Turbo engine producing 306hp of power. They're now electronically limited to 250kph.



- The Audi A4 B9 has been given a minor change for the 2020 model year with new 12-volt ild hybrid engines.


- The Dutch Grand Prix returns to Formula 1 this 2020 season.
