DTM 2019 - Hockenheimring

2019 marks the beginning of a new era of DTM because as Audi and BMW ushered in the turbocharged era of Europe's premiere motorsport series, a new lone challenger enters the battleground, enter the Aston Martin Vantage race car by R Motorsport. With turbocharged engines at bay and Aston Martin joining the challenge, the new era of DTM is becoming interesting enough to be talked about.


The new era of DTM kicked off at the Hockenheimring for the season opener match and the first two races are all about the excitement and drama unfolding in the beginning of the turbocharged era. 

The first race sees Marco Wittmann emerged from the wet condition as the first winner of the turbocharged DTM era after fending off the likes of Mike Rockenfeller and the two-pronged driver Robin Frijns, who balances his career in both the DTM and Formula E.

Then, on the second day, Audi driver Rene Rast is back on the winner's circle after his dramatic at Hockenheim, whereas Nico Muller is placed 2nd and Frijns remains third.

That really is the beginning of the brave new era of DTM. Next event is at Zolder on the 17th to 19th of May.
