The NTT IndyCar Series has returned to Sweet Home Alabama for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama as the best and the brightest stars of this motorsport have gathered at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL, to make some noise in the heat of the American race Sunday.
Unfolding the race at Sweet Home Alabama, Takuma Sato leads the race at the drop of the green flag but Ed Jones jumped the start, triggered a drive-through penalty. The early stages of the race is all about pit stop strategies but as the race progresses, radical changes occurred in an instant as Graham Rahal slowed down and looks like the power is gone for his car. Then, caution was thrown when Max Chilton collided with the wall while hounding down Tony Kanaan.
Takuma Sato nailed his pole-to-win result at the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama while Scott Dixon's placed 2nd and Sebastien Bourdais in 3rd.
The next race is at the streets of Long Beach, California, for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on the 14th of April, 2019.
