- The Philippine National Police has offered its explanation as to why a majority of the spot reports on anti-illegal drug operations contained the seemingly templated “nanlaban” reasoning, which has been assailed by a lawyers’ group.
- Construction of a five-storey building that will serve as a multi-purpose building for the Philippine National Police is now under way, according to Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar. The P267.9-million PNP Multi-Purpose Building will be built near the Training Service Compound inside Camp Crame in Quezon City.
- Former Optical Media Board chairman Ronnie Ricketts is appealing his graft conviction before the Sandiganbayan Fourth Division, as he urged the anti-graft court to set aside its guilty ruling and acquit him. On March 15, the Fourth Division sentenced Ricketts to six to eight years imprisonment due to the anomalous release of confiscated DVDs and VCDs back in 2010.
- British PM Theresa May asked the European Union to delay Brexit to June 30 while Brussels suggest to delay the leave by next year. EU leaders also reacted skeptically, saying that there had to be a strong justification for any further delay.
- The chemical industry park at Yancheng city, eastern Jiangsu province, where an explosion last month killed 78 people and left hundreds injured will be closed, authorities have said.
