- With or without the P10-million reward from the Palace, the Philippine National Police stated that it was committed to arrest former Police Colonel Eduardo Acierto for his alleged involvement in the smuggling of multi-billion peso worth of shabu in the country last year. However, Police Colonel Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson, said the reward would be “a big help” as it is expected to expedite the arrest of the dismissed police officer.
- The Philippine government may resort to multilateral approach in resolving the South China Sea dispute if the bilateral negotiations with China fail, a Palace official said.
- The Commission on Elections expects to proclaim the winning senators in the midterm polls within two weeks after the May 13 polls.
