- Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo hopes that the “Otso Diretso” slate to get the coveted Iloilo vote like what she accomplished in the 2016 vice presidential race. Robredo made her pitch for the eight opposition senatorial candidates during the launch of the Ahon Laylayan Coalition in Iloilo City in the hopes the Ilonggos would also support them.
- At least 21 police personnel from the Philippine National Police’s Police Security and Protection Group have been deployed to the Presidential Task Force on Media Security to ensure the safety of journalists leading to the May 13 midterm elections.
