The 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship continues at Symmons Plains, Tasmania, for the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint, where the biggest surprise comes into fruition as the winning streak of the new Mustang Supercar machines comes to an end as one driver tries to avoid the incident three years ago.
Beginning with the first race of the weekend, Scott McLaughlin and his Shell V-Power Racing teammate Fabian Coulthard delivered a 1-2 finish, just to show the Aussie crowd just how dominant last year's champion is. However, on the latter race of the weekend, the Mustang Supercars' win streak has ended as Shane van Gisbergen and his Red Bull Holden wins with Coulthard placed 2nd and Penrite Racing's David Reynolds placed third.
After one heck of a Tasmania thriller, McLaughlin continues to lead the leaderboard with 770 points while his teammate's 124 points behind him.
The next event is the WD-40 Phillip Island SuperSprint on the 12th to the 14th of April, 2019.
