NTT IndyCar Series 2019 - INDYCAR Classic

The dream of seeing an INDYCAR race in the prestigious Circuit of the Americas, located at Austin, Texas, has finally come true as the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series continues in the newest addition to their roster, the world-renowned COTA. This is the very racetrack where INDYCAR drivers will test their mettle to the most demanding and most prestigious track in the USA.

Seeing them driving at the venue of the United States Grand Prix is a dream come true but let's not get awed by it because it's time for the summary. For the 56th time, Will Power led the grid to the opening lap while Zach Veach faces a rough day when he got spun at the opener. Then a few laps later, a dogfight between Scott Dixon and Takuma Sato got ugly when they caught Jack Harvey in one of the slowest portions of the race tracks. Fast forward after Alexander Rossi's first pitstop and him got overtaken by rookie Colton Herta, newcomer Santino Ferrucci is having a rough day when he got caught at the curving. With 50 laps to go, Felix Rosenqvist and James Hinchcliffe got caught in a tangle, triggering the first caution of the race. Then, with 14 laps left, Will Power faced mechanical failures during pitstop.

The newcomer Colton Herta made the biggest upset in the first INDYCAR race at Circuit of the Americas as he was named the victor of the first ever race at COTA. Completing the podium are 2nd placer Josef Newgarden and 3rd placer Ryan Hunter-Reay.

Next race is at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL, for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama on the 7th of April.
