- The Department of Health said that 140 deaths due to Dengue have been reported in the Philippines from January 1st ot February 23rd. Based on the DOH-Epidemiology Bureau, a total of 36, 664 dengue cases have been reported across the country since the start of the year. During the same period last year, 21,961 dengue cases have been recorded.
- Newly appointed Supreme Court Associate Justice Amy C. Lazaro Javier took her oath of office before Chief Justice Lucas P. Bersamin at the SC’s session hall in Manila.
- Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad warned the Philippines against letting in foreigners who could “disturb the political equations” as President Rodrigo Duterte’s Beijing pivot sparks an influx of Chinese workers.
- Former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort faces potentially spending the rest of his life behind bars when a judge sentences him on Thursday for tax crimes and bank fraud.

- A Thai party which is a crucial cog in the election strategy of the Shinawatra political clan could be dissolved by a court later for its ill-starred bid to front a princess as its candidate for premier. Thai Raksa Chart, which is tied to ex-premiers Thaksin and Yingluck Shinawatra, proposed Princess Ubolratana as its prime ministerial candidate if its bloc emerged with a lower house majority after the March 24 election.
