The 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship marks the debut of the Mustang-bodied Supercars, which marks the return of the two-door Supercar in the series following the departure of the Falcon-bodied supercars, which are based on the now extinct Falcon saloons, and although this race no longer bears Australian-made machines, the spirit of Aussie Rules still roaring at the new age of Supercars Championship, which began with the Superloop Adelaide 500 race at Parklands Circuit.
Thanks to last year's Supercars champion, Scott McLaughlin, the Mustang-bodied Supercar debut made a fresh success after winning the first two races of this season at Adelaide. No wonder 2019 is definitely the year of the Mustang, as they said.
Yes, there was some chaos occurred at Race 1 and then even more chaos at Race 2 because of the pitlane incident, but behind the mess, the Mustang enjoyed its debut success at Supercars Championship with McLaughlin behind the wheel and looks like we can expect more for the pony in down under over the course of this season.
Next race is the Beaurepaires Melbourne 400 from the 14th to 17th of March, 2019.
