- The Senate starts Monday plenary debate on a report of its three committees proposing the lowering of the minimum age of criminal responsibility from the present 15 years old to 12 years old.
- The chairman of the House Committee on Ecology says the government must “reach out” to groups that would be adversely affected by the continuing rehabilitation of Manila Bay.
- Angkas, a motorcycle ride-hailing service, habal-habal, and other similar two-wheel public conveyance operations may soon be legalized after the House of Representatives passed a measure to allow their operations.
- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bureau of Customs have forged anew their partnership in a bid to totally prevent the entry and smuggling of illegal drugs and controlled precursors and essential chemicals into the country.
- The U.S. has called for other permanent members of the United Nations Security Council to adhere to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The call by Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Affairs Andrea Thompson in Beijing comes as the U.S. is preparing to withdraw from a separate pact, the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty between the United States and the former Soviet Union.

- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league may consider rule changes and employing the use of "instant replay" technology in the wake of a missed call at the end of the Saints-Rams game. Goodell said adding an extra official isn't the answer to all the league's issues.
- Seat cushions likely to have come from the plane carrying missing Cardiff City footballer Emiliano Sala have been found, the Air Accidents Investigation Branch said on Wednesday. Sala, 28, remains missing after an aircraft carrying him vanished from radar on the way from France to Wales on Jan. 22. Rescuers ended their search for the forward and pilot David Ibbotson three days later.
