- The Philippine Interfaith Movement Against Human Trafficking said the proposal lowering the minimum age of criminal responsibility would be society’s “greatest sin to children, and to the next generations to come, if implemented.” PIMAHT’s statement came following the approval of the bill lowering the MACR from 15 to 12 years old was approved by the House of Representatives.

- The United States urged Venezuela’s military to accept a “peaceful” transfer of power as it ramped up the pressure on embattled leader Nicolas Maduro with a raft of sanctions on state oil company PDVSA.
