- The Philippine National Police cites drop in crime rate for recommending the extension of martial law for another year. PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said the implementation of martial law in the entire Mindanao region since May last year has been proven effective in addressing almost all types of crimes.
- The United Arab Emirates has extended for the second time the implementation of its amnesty program that would allow undocumented foreigners, including Filipinos, to either correct their immigration status and continue working or return home without penalties.
- The Senate is still not keen to take up proposals to revise the 1987 Constitution even as the House of Representatives comes close to approving a draft charter for a federal form of government.
- Soldiers, citizens in wheelchairs and long lines of others on foot wound through the hushed Capitol Rotunda on Tuesday to view George H.W. Bush’s casket and remember a president whose legacy included World War military service and a landmark law affirming the rights of the disabled. Bob Dole, a compatriot in war, peace and political struggle, steadied himself out of his wheelchair and saluted his old friend and one-time rival.

- A Hawaii-based solider was sentence to 25 years in prison for trying to help the Islamic State extremists.
- Breaking with President Donald Trump, senators leaving a briefing with CIA Director Gina Haspel on Tuesday said they are even more convinced that Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman was involved in the death of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
- Volkswagen Group reportedly said that their next-generation vehicle platforms, due 2026, will be the last designated for petrol and diesel engines.
- Ford and Volkswagen may form a new alliance and plans to use Ford's US plants to produce new vehicles.
- Aston Martin Works revealed their Heritage EV Concept, which is basically a 1970 DB6 Mk II Volante with the electric drivetrain on it.
- Version 1.31 of GT SPORT is now live, featuring new Tokyo Expressway South layout and seven new vehicles, among many others.
