- Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana admitted that the Philippines cannot verify reports of China's operation of weather monitoring stations in the Spratly Islands.
- The Balangiga bells, which were taken by American soldiers as war booty in 1901, will finally be returned to the Philippines this December 11. Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana confirmed that the church bells will return to the Philippines next week.
- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, whose tough stance on illegal drugs has catapulted him to power, yesterday joked that he uses marijuana to keep himself awake as he complained about the grueling schedule in the ASEAN summit. Cannabis is normally considered a downer or depressant.
- Naturalist David Attenborough said at the UN climate talks in Poland that US President Donald Trump is “out on a limb” in his attitude to climate change as nearly every other government, as well as an angry younger generation, are demanding action.
- Prime Minister Theresa May will urge parliament to back her Brexit deal on Tuesday at the start of a high-stakes five-day debate that could determine her fate and whether Britain leaves the European Union without a deal.
- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Brussels on Monday to discuss Iran and other regional issues.

- Micro-blogging site tumblr announced that they will ban all adult content on December 17th, but with some exceptions.
- Production of the Peugeot 308 hatchback has reached one million.
- Ssangyong will participate at the 2019 Dakar Rally with their Rexton DKR rally raid car. Competing for the T1-3 class, their Rexton DKR is rear-wheel drive and powered by a rear mid-mounted 450hp V8 engine while weighing less than 1,900kg. Mated with the 6-speed Sadev SL90-23 sequential manual gearbox, it goes from 0-100kph in 4.4 seconds and onwards to 195kph.
- Actor Ralph Fiennes will spearhead a brand new cast for the next Kingsman film.
