- Senators are urging the Philippines' economic managers to deal first with the inflation before proceeding to the second fuel hike scheduled next year. Senator Sonny Angara, the primary author of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Law together with former Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III have sent their proposals regarding the Development Budget Coordinating Council’s plan to proceed with the increase on the tax hike on diesel and gasoline which is scheduled in 2019.
- President Rodrigo Roa Duterte wants to sign the proposed P3.575-trillion 2019 national budget into law by December 15 so there would be no need to reenact this year’s outlay, according to Albay Representative Joey Salceda.
- Chinese President Xi Jinping held up Panama as a “natural” partner for deeper ties, according to an article published on Friday ahead of a visit likely to unnerve traditional Panamanian ally United States.
- A small airplane crashed into a residential area in northern Sao Paulo on Friday soon after takeoff, the fire department said, killing two people and injuring 12.
- ICYMI: Thanks to defections from Republican Senators Tim Scott of South Carolina and Jeff Flake of Arizona, the nomination of Thomas Farr to the federal bench, infamous for his planned suppression on Black voters, has been rejected and he will not be confirmed by the Senate to a lifetime federal court seat.

- Netflix has canceled Marvel's Daredevil TV series.

- After two and a half decades, the longest-running noontime show on Philippine history, Eat Bulaga!, is moving out from Broadway Centrum to its new studio this 8th of December.
