- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte led the groundbreaking and capsule-laying for the construction of what is known to be the Philippine's longest bridge, the Panguil Bay Bridge, that connects Tangub City, Misamis Occidental, and Tubod yesterday.

- Senatorial bet and former DILG Secretary Rafael Alunan III supports President Duterte's decision to bring back the Reserved Officers' Training Corps.

- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency's internal cleansing continues, according to Director General Aaron Aquino during the recent joint probe of the House Committees on Dangerous Drugs and on Good Government and Public Accountability on the supposed large-scale drug smuggling in the country.

- The US Senate unanimously voted to end the illegal US-Saudi conflict in Yemen. The Sanders/Murphy/Lee resolution would force a withdrawal of US support for this unauthorized war, which created Earth's largest humanitarian crisis and pushed millions into famine.

- Meanwhile, Senate Republicans blocked a bipartisan push to vote on legislation protecting special counsel Robert Mueller. After Sens. Chris Coons (D-Del.), Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) and Cory Booker (D-N.J.) sought to bring the bill to the floor, Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) objected to the request and argued the bill was unconstitutional.
