- The Department of Justice asked the Makati Regional Trial Court to not allow Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV to travel abroad, saying he was a “flight risk.”

- The Commission on Appointments unanimously approved the promotion of Department of Foreign Affairs public information head Elmer Cato to the rank of Chief of Mission II. Cato was the one who circulated the video footage of an unnamed OFW while being rescued by Philippine Embassy and DFA personnel from the household of her employer in Kuwait.

- Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo- Puyat said that world-famous tourist spot, El Nido in Palawan, will not be closed to tourist while undergoing rehabilitation unlike what happened in Boracay island.

- The Chinese scientist who claims to have created the world’s first genetically-edited babies said the trial had been paused, following an international outcry over the highly controversial procedure.

- Authorities said that an explosion and fire near a chemical factory in northern China left 22 people killed and 22 others hurt.

- US President Donald Trump strongly defending the U.S. use of tear gas at the Mexico border to repel a crowd of migrants.

- A Lion Air jet that crashed last month should have been grounded over a recurrent technical problem and never permitted to make the fatal flight, Indonesian authorities said in a report that took aim at the carrier’s poor safety culture.

- Porsche's biggest piece of their 70th anniversary celebration, the all-new 911 (992), was unveiled prior to its LA Auto Show world premiere. The new model is armed with new power and efficient engines such as the 450HP 3.0L flat-six turbo engine, 8-speed PDK, LED Matrix headlights, new safety tech, and the world's first Wet Mode.
