- Lawmakers slammed Duty Free Philippines officials for entering into concession agreements with foreign entities - all Hong Kong-based suppliers - for the supply of merchandise worth billions of pesos. Representatives warned DFPC officials that they may be held liable for violation of the Retail Trade Law and Republic Act 9184 or the Procurement Act which carry heavy penalties for dealing with foreigners.
- The House committee on human rights is set to consolidate measures seeking to safeguard the rights and interest of human rights defenders. The panel, chaired by Zambales Rep. Cheryl Deloso Montalla approved the creation of the technical working group to consolidate House Bills 1617 and 8128, authored by the Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Carlos Isagani Zarate and Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman.
- The camp of Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo believes the draft charter in the House of Representatives that removes her from succession in the country’s transition to federalism will “never happen.” Robredo’s lead counsel Romulo Macalintal said the proposed federal constitution was a “mere political calisthenics,” with the House panel’s decision to put the Senate President in line of succession due to her election protest.
