- Davao City 1st district Representative Karlo Nograles won't be running for Senate in 2019. The House Appropriations Committee chairman on Wednesday ended speculation about a possible run in the 2019 elections, saying that he would rather support the senatorial bids of fellow Mindanaoans in the administration slate.
- The Malacanang said that President Duterte is not inclined to declare nationwide martial law and fall for the trap of the communist rebels. “President Duterte sees no ground to declare martial law nationwide as the whole situation is under control,” Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said in a statement.
