- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the arrest of former Customs intelligence officer Jimmy Guban amid his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade. The President said he asked Philippine National Police chief Oscar Albayalde to apprehend Guban after attending a congressional hearing and bring him to the National Bureau of Investigation.
- Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapena finally acknowledged on Wednesday that there was indeed reason to support claims that P6.4 billion worth of shabu had been slipped into the country, apparently part of a large-scale narcotics smuggling uncovered last August.
