- The Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 148 denied the request by the Department of Justice to issue an arrest warrant against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

- A disqualification case has been filed against Senator Aquilino Pimentel III at the Commission on Elections. Lawyer Ferdinand Topacio said he filed the disqualification case against Pimentel as the latter is no longer eligible to seek reelection in the May 2019 midterm polls.

- The House Committee on Transportation has passed a bill seeking the construction of a second runway at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport. The panel, chaired by Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento, approved House Bill 149, which also seeks to equip the proposed second runway with concomitant access taxiways and rapid exit taxiways, runway lightning systems and navigational and landing equipment.

- Germany wants other European Union member states to follow its example in stopping arms exports to Saudi Arabia as long as uncertainty remains over the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, according to Economy Minister Peter Altmaier. Riyadh has given multiple and conflicting accounts on what led to Khashoggi’s death on Oct. 2 at its consulate in Istanbul. On Sunday, Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir called the killing a “huge and grave mistake” but sought to shield Saudi Arabia’s powerful crown prince.

- U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton faces two days of high-tension talks in Moscow beginning Monday after President Donald Trump announced his intention to withdraw from a landmark nuclear weapons treaty.

- Peugeot revealed that they will develop a range of electrified sports cars by the next decade, that means they will withdraw from the FIA World RX after the 2018 season.
