- The death toll from Hurricane Michael is now up to 18.
- The #7 Toyota TS050 Hybrid, driven by Jose Maria Lopez, Kamui Kobayashi, and Mike Conway, is the winner of this year's 6 Hours of Fuji endurance race of the WEC Superseason. The #37 Jackie Chan DC Racing wins the LMP2 class, #92 Porsche GT for LMGTE PRO, and #56 Team Project 1 for LMGTE AM.
- The #10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R driven by Van Der Zande, Jordan Taylor, and Ryan Hunter-Reay, wins the Motul Petit Le Mans race of the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship at Road Atlanta. The #3 Corvette driven by Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen wins the GT-LM class of the race while the Daniel Serra, Cooper MacNeil and Gunnar Jeannette won the GT Daytona class in the WeatherTech Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488.
