2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship - Vodafone Gold Coast 600

What was once a thrilling two-race weekend at the bustling metropolis of Surfers' Paradise now got cut off into one due to the heavy rainfall that nailed the hammer on the Vodafone Gold Coast 600 race of the 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

Beginning on Saturday's race of this PIRTEK Enduro Cup decider, there has been some drama occurred before, during, and after the race at Surfers' Paradise. In this race, Chaz Mostert, with James Moffatt alongside, ended his 12-month drought by scoring his first win for the Tickford Racing team, followed by Enduro Cup title holder Craig Lowndes/Steven Richards, and James Courtney/Jack Perkins.

Because there has been some drama involved in Day 1, some drivers and teams are taking the hit like for instance; BJR fined for pitlane wheel loss, Moffat banned from Porsche finale after paddock incident, this goes on and on until Sunday's race got ended abruptly in a NO CONTEST due to strong rainfall.

After all the drama in Gold Coast, Craig Lowndes and Steven Richards are named the champions of the 2018 PIRTEK Enduro Cup, which is a fitting sendoff for these two Supercars veterans. With Lowndes and Richards named Enduro Cup champs, Scott McLaughlin clawed title rival Shane van Gisbergen to the leaderboard by 14 points, 3368 vs. 3354.

The next race is the ITM Auckland SuperSprint on the 2nd to the 4th of November. With only two races left to go, the title fight between McLaughlin and Gisbergen's going to be the talk of the town.
