2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship - Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000

Supercars' ultimate battle, the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, returns on the 2018 season and as many things change, the ultimate race that is about a hundred miles more than America's Daytona or Indy 500 never changes and because of such duration, only the best drivers of the Supercars Championship will fire everything in their power to make sure they can survive the 1,000km juggernaut of a race. In the end, looks like a legend has been made after a thousand kilometer struggle.

Craig Lowndes, the legend who announced his retirement moments ago from his full-time racing career at the end of the 2018 season, finally made history by claiming his seventh Bathurst 1000 title. What a send-off Lowndes made in his racing career. Finishers behind Lowndes are second placer Scott Pye, 3rd placer Scott McLaughlin, 4th place finisher Chaz Mostert, and 5th placer Shane Van Gisbergen.

His historic victory at Bathurst puts his gap between him and Shane Van Gisbergen at the Pirtek Enduro Cup of the 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship to 60 points, 558 vs. 498.

The next race is the Vodafone Gold Coast 600 from the 19th to the 21st of October, 2018.
