The road to the final eight at the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup series continues at Talladega Superspeedway for the 1000Bulbs.com 500 race and with Chase Elliot first filled the spot last week, question now is who will be the next to fill in the final eight in this mega-oval track called the 'Dega?
The action at the 'Dega comes in full swing as Kurt Bursch wins Stage 1 of the race and in Lap 103, Kyle Larson spins around and around and around and slows down, triggering the first yellow flag of the race. The following lap later, Kyle Larson experiences some tire blowout. After that blowout, Kevin Harvick wins Stage 2 of the race and then things get even wilder at the 'Dega with just nine laps to go. Lap 187 sees a mess in Turn 4 as the #23, Alex Bowman in the #88, and the #24 caught up in an rather ugly mess.
Aric Almirola nicked his first win of the season and secured his place at the Round of 8.
The playoffs continue at Kansas Speedway for the Hollywood Casino 400 on the 21st of October.
