- A Makati court issued an arrest warrant against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV. In a two-page order, Judge Elmo Alameda granted the “very urgent” motion of the Department of Justice to release an arrest warrant and HDO against the opposition senator.
- Amid the alleged Red October ouster plot against him, President Duterte has called on the military to shun any alliance with government enemies if they were “true” to the country. The President issued the statement after expressing resentment towards some members of the military who were allegedly in cahoots with some opposition forces to overthrow him from power.
- The Regional Trial Court in Malolos City, Bulacan has served the commitment order for convicted retired Army Major General Jovito Palparan Jr., to be transferred to the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.
- Thousands of Iranians attended a mass funeral service for victims of a weekend attack targeting a military parade that killed 25. The dead from Saturday’s attack in the southwestern city of Ahvaz, blamed on Arab separatists, ranged from a disabled war hero to a 4-year-old boy. The assault killed members of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard, including conscripts, wounded over 60 others and further ratcheted up tensions across the Persian Gulf ahead of this week’s United Nations General Assembly.
- The European Union said its members would set up a parliamentary system to oil companies and businesses to continue trading with Iran in a bid to evade sanctions after the US withdrew from a nuclear agreement.
- Republicans mounted a mounted, coordinated drive to salvage Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination as they fought to keep a second woman’s allegation of long-ago sexual misconduct from derailing his confirmation. President Donald Trump leapt to his defense, the Senate’s top Republican accused Democrats of a “smear campaign” and an emotional Kavanaugh declared, “I’m not going anywhere.”
- The US State Department approves possible sale of military parts to Taiwan following President Trump's imposing of new tariffs against Chinese imports. The $330 million contract would see the US ship standard spare parts for several aircraft including the F-16 fighter and the C-130 cargo plane, the State Department said in a statement.
- Peugeot unveiled new PHEV models of the second-generation 508 range and the 3008 crossover.
- DS Automobiles' DS7 Crossback gets a new E-Tense 4x4 PHEV variant, featuring a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder PureTech engine producing 200PS of power coupled with two 80kW electric motors. Together, it has 300PS of combined power output. It is mated to an 8-speed AT.
- A third Kingsman movie is confirmed with Matthew Vaughn returning as co-writer and director.
- Tao Sattapong Phiangphor from the Thai version of Princess Hours says he's open to collaborate with Filipino celebrities.
