- The Philippine National Police welcomed the result of the latest Social Weather Stations' survey which showed that the majority of Filipinos are satisfied with the government's war on drugs. According to the SWS survey result, 78 percent of the 1,200 respondents remained satisfied while 13 percent were dissatisfied with the Duterte administration’s campaign against illegal drugs.

- Government lawyers asked the Supreme Court to dismiss the petition filed by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV who challenged the constitutionality of President Duterte’s Proclamation No. 572 which voided the senator’s 2010 amnesty for rebellion and coup d’etat.

- The Senate unanimously approved on third and final reading the bill that would provide more representation for coconut farmers in the Philippine Coconut Authority. With 18 senators voting in the affirmative, the Upper Chamber passed on final reading Senate Bill No. 1976, which seeks to reconstitute the PCA board and give coconut farmers greater representation in the agency tasked to manage the P105-billion coco levy fund.

- China accused the United States of using false accusations on trade to "intimidate" other countries, as the trade war between the two countries intensifies. The US has “made a series of false accusations, and used increasing tariffs and other means of economic intimidation, to try to impose its own interests on China by way of extreme pressure”, the State Council said in a white paper on trade and economic tensions with Washington.

- US President Donald Trump flew to New York ahead of this week's gathering of world leaders at the United Nations, where he met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in the evening. Following dinner with Trump at the president’s New York tower, Abe told reporters the pair discussed North Korea and its abduction of Japanese citizens, along with US-Japan and international trade, “in a warm atmosphere as usual.”

- Senate Democrats investigate a new allegation of sexual misconduct regarding SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh, this time during his college days where one of his classmates describes a dormitory party gone awry and a drunken incident.

- Ferrari confirms an SUV, a replacement for the LaFerrari, hybrid powertrains, and a new V6 engine as part of their five-year plan.

- Porsche ends production of diesel variants and instead focus on electrification as part of their 2025 plan.

- Audi reveals their e-offensive plan where they will launch 20 new models by 2025.

- Groupe PSA unveiled a plan where starting next year, all Groupe PSA vehicles will have a PHEV or electric variant.

- Asia's Next Top Model 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz officially joins Eat Bulaga not as a presenter but as one of Boss Madam's characters from The Barangay Jokers segment.

- Former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach became the first Filipino to have a wax figure in Madame Tussards.
