- An intertropical convergence zone is affecting eastern Visayas and Mindanao on Tuesday, bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

- Death toll from last weekend's Typhoon Ompong has now risen to 74.

- The government intends to import more rice and flood the local market with the cheap commodity, President Duterte bared after typhoon Ompong caused damage to local rice production in Luzon.

- Wealthy Japanese businessman Yusaku Maezawa is named the first man to fly on the SpaceX rocket around the moon beginning 2023 and he plans to bring six to eights artists along.

- 100 people were killed in floods in much of central and southern Nigeria across 10 states, according to its disasters agency.

- Canada's ruling Liberals have defected to the main opposition party, a major blow to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's legislator a year before the next federal election.

- US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said they will sharply limit refugee flows to 30,000 in next year.

- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro dined on expensive steak at a “Salt Bae” restaurant in Istanbul during a stop-off returning from a visit to China, drawing furor back home where millions struggle to get enough to eat and red meat is a rare luxury.

- The Audi e-tron electric crossover was unveiled at an event in San Francisco, making it the first series production, all-electric SUV from Audi. The 400-volt electrical system and the electric quattro setup promises up to 300kW of power output and up to 400km of range by WLTP standards.
