- A low pressure area spotted off near Basco, Batanes has developed into a Tropical Depression named Neneng, which will bring heavy rains over Northern Luzon. In the latest PAGASA weather forecast issued on Friday, the center of the tropical depression was at 120km north of Basco, Batanes.

- The Bureau of Immigration is set to deport Taiwan's number one most wanted criminal, wanted by Taipei authorities for murdering and cutting into pieces the body of a Canadian teacher. Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente disclosed that American 37-year-old Oren Shlomo Mayer is currently detained at the BI Detention Center in Bicutan following his arrest on September 6 in Cainta, Rizal by elements from the Bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit and agents from the Philippine National Police, Intelligence Group, National Capital Region.

- Former Bureau of Immigration Deputy Commissioner Al Argosino and Michael Robles, as well as AGSPA president Wenceslao Sombero Jr. have filed their respective motions for reconsideration before the Sandiganbayan Sixth Division and insisted that they be allowed to post bail for their plunder charge. The three of them are facing plunder charges due to the reported extortion of P50 million from 1,316 arrested Chinese nationals who were violating Philippine immigration laws back in 2016.

- The Venezuelan government announced it hold a massive march Tuesday against the United States' meddling after reports that US officials met secretly with Venezuelan military officers to discuss plans to oust President Nicolas Maduro. The United States “acknowledges having met at least three times with military coup leaders to carry out a coup,” said Diosdado Cabello, speaker of the ruling Constituent Assembly that runs the country.

- Cambodia's opposition leader Kem Sokha was released from jail a year after he was detained on treason charges, as the country’s strongman ruler loosens his grip on opponents after sweeping one-sided elections.

- Sweden's far-right made gains in legislative elections Sunday and vowed to exert “real influence” as kingmaker, after both the left-wing and center-right blocs failed to obtain a majority and the make-up of the next government remained up in the air. Prime Minister Stefan Lofven invited the centre-right opposition Alliance to talks aimed at a “cross-bloc cooperation”, after his Social Democrats remained the biggest party with 28.4 percent of votes, its weakest election score in a century.

- Seven people were hurt Sunday in Paris after being attacked by a man armed with a knife and an iron bar, according to reports. A source close to the inquiry said the suspect has been arrested and is believed to be an Afghan national.

- Novak Djokovic, despite dropped three consecutive games at the US Open due to injuries, made a comeback win for the title after defeating Juan Martin del Potro to win his third title.

- Serena Williams, following her controversial defeat by US Open women's Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka, slammed the umpire for being a "liar" and "thief" and such claims from last Saturday's outbursts were backed by the WTA.

- BMW introduces their Intelligent Personal Assistant which will be operational this March on models equipped with BMW OS 7.0 in selected markets.
