Rene Rast, an Audi driver, made headlines at Spielberg after winning all two races in the weekend, totalling to four wins of this season this last year's champion gained. In the first win of the weekend, by surprise, all three Audis claimed. This includes him, Mike Rockenfeller, and Nico Muller themselves.
In the second win of the weekend, despite local radio disruptions that cost Rast his qualifier chances, a 1-2 Audi finish with him and Muller shows that Audi still has a fighting chance and here's hoping that next year, the beasts from Ingolstadt should have their last resort. Mercedes driver Gary Paffett completes the podium.
After Spielberg, Paul di Resta leads with 229 points, which is four points ahead of second placer Gary Paffett, while Rene Rast's in third place with 199 points.
With Paul di Resta and Gary Paffett became too close to call for the championship title, who will emerge as the 2018 DTM Champion? Find out in the finale of the DTM 2018 happening at the Hockenheimring on the 12th to the 14th of October, 2018. Don't miss it!
