- Tropical Depression Karding has maintained its strength and remained almost stationary over the Philippine Sea on Wedenesday. It its 0400 forecast, PAGASA said “Karding” was last observed 1,150 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan with maximum winds of 55 kms. per hour and gustiness up to 65 kph.

- Department of National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said that the newly-signed Philippine System Identification Act will greatly help in disaster relief efforts. The DND chief also said the measure will help the government address the gaps in the identification of citizens entitled to receive government services, thereby making things more convenient for law-abiding Filipinos.

- Writer and political blogger Sass Rogando Sasot on Monday defended Presidential Communications Operations Office assistant secretary Mocha Uson's controversial video on federalism. Uson’s viral video “Pepedederalismo” — which drew criticisms from several lawmakers, government officials, showbiz personalities, and netizens — featured social media personality Drew Olivar dancing and chanting “I-pepe, i-pepe, i-dede, i-dede… ipederalismo.”

- In the ongoing trial with former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, his ally Rick Gates is being cross-examined by defense lawyers in Mr. Manafort’s trial on bank and tax fraud charges in Alexandria, Virginia. As defense lawyers attacked his credibility, Mr. Gates admitted to having an affair about a decade ago, but he denied using company money for his trysts.

- A powerful typhoon is churning towards Japan on Wednesday, prompting the nation's weather agency to warn of heavy rain and violent winds and airlines to cancel dozens of flights. Typhoon Shanshan was expected to make landfall about 100 kilometers (62 miles) northeast of Tokyo by early Thursday, sparking fears that the busy morning commute in the capital could be disrupted.

- Chicago officials announced hundreds of additional police officers will be deployed to city neighborhoods where a burst of gun violence over the weekend left at least 11 people dead and around 70 wounded.

- Following the United States reimposing sanctions against Iran, US President Donald Trump warned trading partners that anyone making business with Iran will not making business with the United States.

- Officials at Alaska’s Denali National Park say they’re working to determine if and when they can start trying to recover the bodies of several people killed a sightseeing plane crash. The plane with a pilot and four Polish tourists aboard crashed Saturday on a mountain ridge near the top of Denali, North America’s tallest peak.

- Fiat teases their upcoming minor change for the 500X crossover.



- The cast of the upcoming Kamen Rider ZI-O TV series was announced! So Okuno will play the role of the show's main character Sogo Tokiwa/Kamen Rider ZI-O, while Gaku Oshida plays the role of Geiz Myōkōin/Kamen Rider Geiz, and Shieri Ōhata as Tsukuyomi, among many others. The show airs on TV Asahi on September 2, after HuGtto Precure.
