2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship - OTR SuperSprint

The 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship introduces us to an all-new addition to the list of racetracks, known as The Bend Motorsport Park, for the first-ever OTR SuperSprint race event, and because this is an all-new track in Supercars Championship, even the best drivers are trying to get used to this brand new addition as the fight for the title continues.

Beginning on the first race of this new event, following a questionable qualifying rounds for drivers like Scott McLaughlin and Shane Van Gisbergen, looks like the driver of the #97 Red Bull Holden Racing Team ZB Commodore emerged as the first-ever winner of the OTR SuperSprint at The Bend, with two Nissan drivers, Rick Kelly and Michael Caruso, finished 2nd and 3rd.

On the second race, meanwhile, after all that drama before and after the race, Jamie Whincup nailed his first Tailem Bend win with Gisbergen placed 2nd and David Reynolds of Erebus placed 3rd.

After all the drama at The Bend, Shane Van Gisbergen overtook McLaughlin in the overall rankings by an 19-point gap, 2778 vs. 2759.

Next race is the RABBLE.club Sandown 500 at the Sandown International Raceway on the 14th to the 16th of September, 2018.
